HENNA AFTERCARE

Best Practices For A Great Stain

There are a few simple steps and recommendations for aftercare that will help you get a great stain.

1. Let the paste sit (the longer, the better!)
Your henna paste will dry within about an hour, but don’t rush to remove it. Keep the paste on your skin for 4–12 hours, or as long as you can. If you received your henna in the evening, sleeping with the paste on is highly recommended for the deepest, most beautiful stain.

2. Stay warm for a deeper stain 🔥
Heat helps your henna work its magic! While your paste is on, try to stay warm—this encourages a darker, richer color.

3. Use oil to remove and protect
Gently remove your paste using coconut oil—DO NOT WASH OFF OR USE WATER—the oil protects your stain and helps to remove those stubborn pieces that aren't as easy to scrape off.
Right after removal, your stain will appear a bright orange (don’t panic—that’s normal!). It will gradually darken over the next 24-48 hours.
To extend the life of your henna:

  • Apply coconut oil daily

  • Add oil before showering or swimming

(No coconut oil? Olive or avocado oil works just as well!)

4. Avoid water for 24 hours
Once your paste is removed, keep your design away from water until you reach the full 24-hour mark. This gives your stain time to oxidize and deepen in color.

With the right care, your henna will continue to deepen and glow over the next few days—trust the process, it’s worth it 😉

BOOKINGS

Before You Book Your Appointment…

CERTAIN BODY PARTS STAIN BETTER
The hands and feet are popular with henna designs for a reason…they stain the best. The closer you move towards the core of your body, then the higher your chances are of your stain being lighter than the stains on your hands or feet.

PICK A GOOD TIME
Schedule a time that will allow you to relax for a couple of hours after your henna session. This will allow your paste to dry without the hassle of you rushing to the next thing you have on your “to-do” list. Also, if you wish to show off your henna for an event, then schedule your appointment at least 3 days before the event so the stain can be at its full maturity.
